JUN/JUL 2005 - aNN Brown

Name: aNN Brown

Location: Virginia

Short Bio: Employed by the Federal Government,  Information Technology; a member of  several on-line book clubs, and a member of
The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

1. How long have you been a member and what do you like most? A member for four years, I like that I’ve developed some wonderful
friendships .

2. List some of your favorite books. Friends and Lovers, EJD; Scenes From a Sistah, L.Files;  Sugar, B. McFadden; One Day I Saw a Black King, J.D.Mason;
Their Eyes Were Watching God,  Z.N.Hurston; Beyond Desire, G. Forster; Weeping Willows Dance, G. Mallette AND The Season’s of Beento Blackbird, A.Busia.

3. List some of your favorite authors. M.J. Hodge, G. Mallette, E.J.D, B. McFadden, G. Forster, D. Hill …(so many)

4. What are you favorite genres and why? Whew I like so many genres but favorites, hmmm….. Women’s Fiction, Mystery, Romance.

Women’s-I like believable drama about real women.

Mystery- It gives me an opportunity to get into the minds of sleuths.

Romance – It helps keep me sane, if it’s a well written romance.

5. How many books on average do you read per month? About eight.

6. What was the last book you read and what was it about? The Bitten – the fourth book in a vampire huntress series. The huntress has been compromised and she needs to find the culprit and reaffirm her quest in life.

7. If you could change one thing in the African-American Literary Community, what would it be and why?? I would love to see more eclectic readers so we could broaden our literary scope.  It is disheartening how tunneled vision our reading seems to be.

8. If you could go on a fantasy dinner with an author, who would it be and where would you take him/her?

Whew! I honestly don’t know.

9.  Which character from a novel would you like to put the beat down on? Why? Queen Ester from The Honeywell, because she had no remorse for all of the drama she created.

10.  What does your current  bookmark look like? Where'd you get it? Seriously it’s a bookmark I received from RAWSISTAZ…(for real lol)
