MARCH/APRIL 2005 - ERAINA TINNIN

Name: Eraina Tinnin

Location:
Greensboro, NC

Short Bio: I am a married, mother of 2, who has a passion for reading.

Tell a bit about yourself, how long you've been in TRR, and what behind-the-scenes (if anything) things you do: I originally became a reviewer in March of 2002, but life got hectic as it sometimes does and I had to take two LOA's......I came back in June of 2004 and have been  raring to go ever since. Currently all I do behind the scenes are making sure that the database entries are updated monthly.

As a reviewer and unpaid volunteer, what is your motivation for reviewing?  My passion and love of reading.

Share your best moment as a reviewer: When an author commented that I was the only one who got what she was trying to say in her book. The book had a much deeper meaning and I captured that in my review. Actually all positive feedback from authors and those who have read my reviews are great moments.

What do you look for in books? Something to grab my attention. Not a story that has the same storyline that we have read over and over again. I also like well developed characters and a book that doesn't leave you hanging. I also like unexpected twists.

What is the best book you've ever reviewed:
I can only name one??? I honestly don't think I can narrow it down to one. But if I HAVE to, I will say Schemin' by Andrea Blackstone.

Share your Top 5 list of books reviewed in 2004: Upstate by Kalisha Buckhanon, Schemin' by Andrea Blackstone, From A Hard Rock To A Gem by Pamela M. Johnson, In Her Presence by Nancy Weaver and Hood Rich by Crystal Perkins-Stell.

Now, pick just ONE as your favorite: Schemin by Andrea Blackstone.....it was very well written with loveable characters and an unsuspecting twist.

When you're not reading/reviewing, what do you do? What don't I do is the question....lol. I work at home full-time. I tutor at my children's' school and I teach youth bible study and youth Sunday School at my church. I am also president of the local R.A.W chapter.

How many books are on your Review Pile? Currently 5
