I prefer realistic fiction. I read a ton of YA because I run a library for youth. I like historical fiction, sci-fi/fantasy and poetry.

I love reading dating books, how -to, motivational works and different types of non-fiction.

Since joining Rawsistaz, I’ve been exposed to various genres. I never thought that I would enjoy science fiction or paranormal but have found some very interesting. I mainly read contemporary fiction but my favorite genre is romance.

I used be particular but since joining Rawsistaz, I have been exposed to many genres that I normally would pass by. I am at the point that I will read anything that has a good flow to it. (even those historical romances) My favorite by far though is mystery and crime fiction.

As I broaden my reading experience I have been moving into various genres of late that I never thought I would enjoy as much as I have been. For a time I was primarily AA fiction & historical romance with the occasional contemporary romance and mystery novel thrown in. Though I still read these I find myself reading more paranormal, sci-fi, christian fiction, and in general just exploring authors I never would have read otherwise. What I am learning about myself is that it is not as much the genre as it is the author. If the author is good the genre does not matter as much. Though I still go through periods where I need a historical romance or a paranormal romance (did not realize how many of these there were till recently) to just take me to a complete fantasy world.

I love all types of books. My favorite genres are Fiction, Christian Fiction, Erotica and Urban Lit. Some of my favorite authors in these genre are Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl Weber, Victoria Christopher Murray, Zane, etc.

The genres that I don’t read often are Sci-Fi and Autobiographies. Although I did read E. Lynn Harris’s book, and loved it.

LOL. We had to do some renovations earlier this year and they packed my office. But, when they unpacked everything else, I decided I’d bring my office books back in, one box at a time. I’ve still yet to get it unpacked. I’ma find it though!

LOL…I don’t like sci-fi/fantasy, horror, poetry, or non-ficition. Some of my favorite titles are: The Someday List by Stacy Hawkins Adams, Song Yet Sung by James McBride, Jewel by Beverly Jackson (my first historical romance), Weeping Willows Dance by Gloria Mallette, White Lines by Tracy Brown, Three Times A Lady by Niobia Bryant.

I am a romance junkie, however I will read all genres. Science fiction and poetry are my least favorites. I will even read those genres if it is the BOM for my local or on line book club.

I read across the genres so it would be easier to tell you what isn’t my favorites. Since that isn’t the questions…My favorites or what I read the most include, contemporary fiction, literary fiction, christian fiction and my interest in YA fiction is continually growning. Overall, I read just about anything except sci-fi/fantasy.

I love books period. lol. My faves are Sci-fi, romance, and erotica. Ann Christopher who has written a few books has become one of my favorites in romance. In Sci-fi, L.A. Banks has my vote, although I have to check out some of the others Tee mentioned. I haven’t had the time, with work, writing and family. My ‘To Be Read’ book stack is already like the leaning Tower of Pisa. lol. Erotica, I would have to say I don’t have a fav, but Devon Scott is inching to the top as one of the authors I’ll have to watch closely. He has only two books in and I’ve read one and the other is in the To Be Read stack. The one I read though was good.

My favorite genre is suspenseful drama. I love anything that will keep me turning the pages. My favorites authors and titles in this genre are Kimberla Lawson Roby-Sin No More, J.D. Mason-Gotta Sin to Get Saved and Victoria Christopher Murray-A Sin and A Shame. However I’ll read anything that will keep me interested. Can you breifly explain what YA fiction is, please?
