What’s on your E-Reader?

What’cha reading, just read, or getting ready to read?

As we continue our e-book reading challenge, I thought it would be great to share what’s on our reading devices.  For those who are using your phone or PC to download the e-books, don’t feel left out.  We want to know what you’re reading too.

For those with a reading device, let us know which one you have and your overall thoughts on the device itself and the ease (or not) of getting your books on it.  If there’s another device you’ve been watching, let us know what it is.

Let’s chat!

Okay, I have all of the challenge books loaded, as well as some manuscripts from clients loaded on my Sony Reader and ready for Spring Break. Hopefully I’ll get to get some reading in and not sleep the days away. :) I also have my eye on the Alex (by Spring Design) which just started pre-orders. You can find out more at https://www.springdesign.com/us/index.action.

I initially wanted a Nook, but then I saw the Alex, soooooooooo…more than likely I’ll get one of those. The Sony Reader is more for business as it’s perfect for reading manuscripts & review books (though you can download e-books too), while the Alex I’m hoping to use more as my personal reader.

  2. My eyes are currently my “E” reader, so on my “E-Reader (Eye-Reader”), I’m reading White Lines and hoping to start Where There’s Smoke 2.

      Eye-Reader…good one…LOL

ROFL @ DJ. Too cute!! I’m looking forward to reading Where There’s Smoke 2, so definitely take good notes so we can chit-chat about it.

I have all the free e-books downloaded to read. Gotta get to them, though. So many hours in front of a computer, that it’s hard for me to sit in front of one to read, when the actual book itself is more of a break for my eyes. I did read Where There’s Smoke 2. LOVED IT! Some of my all time favorite characters:)

  3. Sharon says:

Well, I haven’t been blessed with an E-reader…yet. I would like to get the Nook. I just finished reading Crazy in Love by Yoshe and now I’ve started And The Walls Came Tumbling Down by Vernadine A. Merrick.

    • Tee C. Royal says:

Well, we’re gonna pray those blessings fall down on you, sis, so you can get a reader. :) Have you tried the Kindle or BN eReader apps for your phone?

      -Tee

      • Sharon says:

Yes…I’ve tried the Kindle on my phone…it’s not bad but the screen it just small and I have the font on large so that means not a lot of scrolling….LOL!!! It works in a pinch if I don’t have a book on me while I’m waiting somewhere.

        • Tee C. Royal says:

Sadly, my BlackBerry is the version below the one compatible with the Kindle, so I wasn’t able to download the app, but I have read PDF files via my phone. Like you said, lotta scrolling, but it wasn’t too bad. It might be time to upgrade my phone. :)

I have the Nook and love it. I mostly download from b and n but can easily side load by connecting the nook via USB.

I just finished Message from a Mistress and can’t wait for the sequel. I have a ton of books on my e-reader but my next book is in paper-Before I forget by L Pitts.

  5. I don’t have a e-reader either & the iPhone app just doesn’t work cause the screen is too small. I just finished reading Still Guilty by Pat Simmons & The Lies That Bind by DL Sparks. Now I’m about to read Its In My Blood by Shawneda Marks.

Hey Ladies. I downloaded Kindle on my BB but I have not use it to read any books yet. I just finished Perfect Peace by Daniel Black. Yall have got to read that book! I love all of Daniel Black’s work though. I am also reading Keeping It Tight from the eBook Reading Challenge. That one I’ve printed out and read at work. It looks as though I am deep into some type of technical document. Tee-hee.

I’ve had my eye on the Nook, but the Alex looks good too.

I am reading meeting faith: A Inward Odyssey by Faith Adiele about the first young black women who became a buddhist nun in search for inner peace~ sounds stuffy but is so funny and honest and interesting~

I just finished reading the first three books in a series by Marilynn Griffith “Shades of Styles”. I still have the fourth book, “Turquoise” to read. I received the Sony e-reader for my birthday in March, so I have not really downloaded many books yet. I do have Sushi for One on there now that I have been reading. Looking to enlarge my library soon.

    • Tee C. Royal says:

Evette, I’ve heard great things about Marilynn’s series and I think I have the first 2 or 3 books. Hopefully I can check them out before the year is over.

      • Wana says:

Tee, I think you will enjoy Marilynn’s books. I’ve read them all except one and I enjoyed every last one.
