RAWSISTAZ Literary Group was founded in 2000 to support and promote the work of African-American authors. The groups, on and offline, represent close to 600 readers, writers, aspiring writers, and others interested in literacy and the impact on our communities.
People are just so jaded… I was listening to The Steve Harvey Morning show yesterday (…and today) and they were talking about Polygamy. On the 30 Second Phone Blast, Steve opened up the calls so that listeners could call in and say whether they agreed with polygamy or not. A surprisingly large number of women said that they would be comfortable sharing a man.
Have relationships sunk that bad? Are we as women so desperate that the inhumane thought of sharing one you supposedly love seems like a viable option? Man-sharing and having children alone say one of two things are both – either men are terrible or women are mentally breaking down and allowing themselves to be at the receiving end of the short end of the stick. Thikn about it…what self respecting woman, earning a decent salary, who is intelligent-articulate-and full of wisdom and grace would invest her financial and spiritual resources into an institutional family where she doesn’t even recieve a fraction of what she gives.
