Woo hoo! The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers won the Best Reviewer Category at the 1st Annual Black Book Clubs Rock (BBCR) Awards last weekend. It is great to be recognized for our efforts in reviewing, especially since this is our 9th year doing it. 5000+ books later, we’re still at it! Visit our book review site at www.blackbookeviews.net.

The Black Book Clubs Rock Awards (founded by Tifany Jones of Sistah Connections Book Club) is an event designed to honor book clubs and literary supporters who have made a positive impact on the African-American community through their service. Honorees exemplify community spirit, leadership, volunteerism, and have made a difference in the lives of authors and readers.
The vision of Black Book Clubs Rock is to show the world how much we can accomplish when we come together in unity. Each month, all around the world, book clubs come together to fellowship and discuss their passion for reading and everything in between. Friendships are formed and lifelong bonds are created. Now, imagine if we took these principles into our homes. Not only would our communities be changed, but the world as well. Global impact can only be accomplished through the successful changes we make as individuals within our own families. So in short, one person CAN make a difference!

RAWSISTAZ Literary Group was founded in 2000 to support and promote the work of African-American authors. The groups, on and offline, represent close to 600 readers, writers, aspiring writers, and others interested in literacy and the impact on our communities.

While I know this is our group and everything, I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank each and every member of our team, past & present, and our guest reviewers who make what we do possible. Folks have no idea how many books come into us and how hard you guys work to make it happen, so I say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I love each of you and appreciate all your efforts.
And ahem…anyone interested in reviewing for us? ROFL. Let me know, ASAP.
