ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Billie Jean King, born in Mer Rouge Louisiana and  raised in Bastrop Louisiana. She currently resides in the city of San Ramon, California.
Before endeavoring her writing career, she wore many hats during her career, ranging from a Reverse Mortgage Consult, Advertising Account Executive, Manufacturer’s Representative, Medical & Dental Sales Representative, Insurance Broker-Producer, Notary and Realtor. She has extensive experience in the area of presentations, both one-on-one and group; including focus group discussions, seminar and motivational speaking.
Her first attempt at writing occurred when she was sixteen years of age. She wrote a short story chronicling the events of a summer vacation in Milwaukee shared by her girlfriend Sue. She entitled it “That Summer in Milwaukee.† She loved to write, but never classed herself as a passionate  reader as her girl friend , who validated her short story as being a definite topic of interest, and later gave her the thumbs up for “At Last.†Her ability to write was re-affirmed in her first semester of college. To gain access to an over crowded English class with only two seats remaining; she edged her way in by writing an on the spot 500 word essay.
Since its release in April, it has captured the hearts and minds of singles as well as couples. Because of “At Last” diversity of topics that are affecting singles and the body of Christ, she was asked to appear on the TCT Network Rejoice program, a national and international Christian Broadcast.
In spite of her love to write, she didn’t grow up with a desire to write a novel.  In September of 2005, her desire to write was ignited by a guest that appeared on a Christian Broadcasting Network. With renewed interest and motivation, she had her title and composed ten thousands words within the same day. Because of a career change that required her to travel, “At last†was placed on the back burner. After reading “Better Than Good†by Zig Ziglar in August of 2006, she was inspired to persevere without interruptions until it’s completion in October of 2006; followed by a year and a half of editing.
After re-dedicating her life to Christ in 1985, she classifies her relationship with Christ as a serious commitment. She’s consistently maintained a burning passion to minister into the lives of women. On numerous occasions, God has used her gift of exhortation to bless and encourage the lives of many women, whether it’s on an individual level, a letter of encouragement or in a corporate environment as speaker at prayer breakfasts and or a facilitator for women retreats.
She’s severed in the capacity of an Intake Evangelism Counselor, New Member’s Class Instructor, Home Visitation Counselor, and a reporter for her Church Newsletter. She currently serves on the Phone / Prayer/Ministry at her church. In addition to working on her second novel, she hones her writing skills by writing paid blogs. She also does community service motivational speaking to retiree’s, Women’s Shelters,Transitional Schools etc.
Her desire is that God will continue to allow her to be a beacon of light for women in the area exhortation through writing. She has one daughter, Shari Amour King-Ignont, and one granddaughter, Jordyn A. Ignont.
