Happy Read An E-Book Week!
We kicked things off with an interview with the founder of Read An E-Book Week, Rita Y. Toews earlier in the week, celebrated e-books on the Michigan Writers Network Show last night, and have been hearing from members regarding all the great finds around the internet.
For Read An E-Book Week, we put the call out and received quite a few responses from African-American Authors. So, they’ve offered the books below (for a limited time) FREE OF CHARGE here on our site in honor of Read an E-Book Week and to help us kick off of our 8 Week E-Book Reading Challenge.
The authors will be joining us in the upcoming weeks for our popular Black Book Chats, so stay tuned for the official schedule. *My apologies for the delay, but as a result of our email outages over the last week or so, we had to schedule posting the downloads later than initially planned.*

RAWSISTAZ Literary Group was founded in 2000 to support and promote the work of African-American authors. The groups, on and offline, represent close to 600 readers, writers, aspiring writers, and others interested in literacy and the impact on our communities.

I’m joining. I believe I already downloaded When we Were One within the last two months but I need to double check. I’m looking forward to joining in on the others as well.

I just joined but the link on the confirmation screen didn’t work for me. I’m using Google Chrome but I’ll check in Firefox.
It didn’t work with Firefox either, i just get the page not found message.

Maybe the books aren’t posted yet. it seems like I saw something that said books ????? seven days. I can’t remember what was in between books and seven…which is bad because I haven’t had a drink yet (QQ)
Ignore my last comment. I finally got the page to load and downloaded the books.
Alright Wana what am I doing wrong. I joined but I can’t get the page for down loading the books.
I’m sorry ladies, had to pull the page down to set up an alternate registration method. Folks were downloading and not commenting here.
Everything should be working now and there may be a few more reads added to the list…they just won’t be free.

Toni, on the confirmation page is a link for the page to download the books. They are in PDF format and I don’t have a Kindle, so I don’t know if you can download them on there, but the site says this:

Will the chats be in the order of the posted books?
No, the authors are confirming their availability now and we’ll start off with shorts, articles & an e-book workshop next week and and then add in the longer books and titles over the remaining weeks. We will post it though so you’ll know what order to read in.

you can find it on the homepage under the heading

after you go to that page I believe you enter the password that you received after registering.
Shonna, please try accessing the page in FireFox as one person who couldn’t access the downloads couldn’t see the booklist using a different browser. I’ve also emailed you all the info again.
